Ann has been working in sports administration
for nearly 35 years.
She was employed by the British Olympic Association from
1972 to 1994 when she left to establish a separate office
and full-time administration for the Commonwealth Games
Council for England in light of the increased workload that
the award of the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester would
bring.
Ann has worked at 9 Commonwealth Games, 7 as a member of
Team England's HQ staff and twice, in 1978 and 1982, as
a member of the CGF's staff. She has also worked as a member
of the HQ Staff of Team GB at 9 Olympic Summer or Winter
Games.
She was the first woman ever to be appointed as a General
Team Manager of Team England undertaking the role for the
first time at the 1994 Commonwealth Games and then again
in Kuala Lumpur in 1998. In 2002 Ann was the Chef de Mission
of Team England - the biggest multi-sports team ever brought
together within the UK. She perfomed this role again at
the 2006 Games in Melbourne.
Ann has also twice been the Chef de Mission of England's
team participating in the Commonwealth Youth Games - in
Edinburgh in 2000 and in Bendigo (Australia) in 2004.
In the 2008 New Year's Honours List, Ann was awarded the
