The Commonwealth
Games Council for England (CGCE) is seeking a second chartered
physiotherapist to work with Team England athletes at the
2008 Commonwealth Youth Games.
The 3rd Commonwealth
Youth Games will be held in Pune, India from 12th to 18th
October 2008. The successful applicant should have availability
to travel for two to three weeks during October 2008 and may
also be required to provide some occasional cover for sports
teams in the lead up to the Games.
All applicants
must have completed a diploma or degree course that has led
to membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and
have a minimum of five years post-registration clinical experience
with at least two years experience in the treatment of sports
related injuries.
Active involvement
with a National Governing Body of Sport working with athletes
throughout their training and competitive seasons for at least
two years will be considered an advantage as will a Diploma
or MSc in Sports Physiotherapy and/or ACPSM silver level certification.
Applicants will
be asked to provide proof of their own continuing professional
development in the fields of sports medicine and musculo-skeletal
physiotherapy, including evidence of regular CPR training.
Chartered physiotherapists
who have previous experience of working at an international
multi-sport event; have multi-sport experience; and have attained
Level 4 membership of the Sports Massage Association will
be regarded favourably.
