Bendigo

 

The 2nd Commonwealth Youth Games were held in Bendigo, Australia between 30 November and 4 December 2004.

The sports competing in these Games were - athletics, badminton, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, lawn bowls, rugby 7s, swimming, tenpin bowling and weightlifting.

Over 1,000 athletes and officials from 25 countries were involved in the Games and Team England sent a team of 86 athletes and 37 Officials. The only sport not represented by Team England was swimming.

England came second overall in the medal table behind Australia, and won a total of 86 medals - 33 Gold; 28 Silver and 25 Bronze.
